The Breakout staff has a combined, 34 years of experience in substance abuse prevention education. Along with their teaching responsibilities, Breakout staff are involved in the Jackson County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, Peer Mentoring Program, and the Michigan Counselors Association. |

Shelly E. Milligan |
|
Shelly has been with the Breakout Program for 16 years. Before the merger with Family Service and Children's Aid, Shelly was the Executive Director of the Breakout Program. Since the merger, Shelly has been the Program Coordinator. Shelly has a three year old son, Drew. |

Barb VanHouten |
|
Barb began her career with the Peer Listening Program in Battle Creek. She also spent time with Prevention Partners of Jackson before joining the Breakout Program in January of 2006. Barb and her husband Mike have been married for 25 years. |

Marianne Batterbee |
|
Marianne is a part-time statistician for the Breakout Program. She is responsible for the 10,000 pre, post, and follow-up tests the students take each time Breakout comes to their school. Marianne has been with Family Service and Children's Aid for 8 years. |

Volunteer and staff FACTS:
Most of the Breakout volunteer will donate an average of 45 hours per year.
Each Breakout classroom instructor will provide drug education lessons for an average of 2,500 students per year.
One third of all Breakout volunteers are under the age of 18 years.
There is a combined 34 years of alcohol and drug prevention education experience between the two Breakout classroom instructors.
